We are keen to ensure the Chesterton Sixth Form is developed into a thriving community hub , with our student body actively encouraged to forge links with local community groups, primary schools and businesses.
Community engagement
Our Chesterton Ethos has always centred on developing community minded young people, who are given ongoing opportunities to volunteer, fundraise and get involved in their local community. We are excited by the prospect of adding to our work with young adults aged 16-18, and know that the possibilities afforded by this are great.
Thriving cultural hub
Our excellent arts and performance facilities will provide a hub for additional sixth form led theatre performances, art exhibitions and subject lectures, all of which will be advertised to the local community.
Business links
We know that the north of Cambridge is home to a range of exciting and innovative small businesses, and we really look forward to forging links with them, either via work experience programmes, student volunteering or careers programmes.
Volunteer programme
Our sixth-form led volunteer programme will develop mentoring schemes with local primary schools; offer services to community groups and seek to establish ties with local business and enterprise resulting in a strong, student-led scheme to benefit the local community.
Open to all
We are committed to being an open and welcoming community hub, and look forward to gathering ideas for projects and ventures from those living in the north of the city. Our sixth form cohorts will provide engaged and positive groups of young adults with established ties to their communities, with a view to benefitting a huge range of groups and individuals locally.
