Broadening Horizons

We will ensure all students have access to a challenging and engaging programme of opportunities and support to extend their understanding of their curriculum subjects, as well as access to an exciting and carefully curated enrichment programme to broaden horizons beyond their A-Level courses.

Enrichment programme

Chesterton will provide all students with a programme of exciting enrichment activities, making the most of all that Cambridge has to offer. All students will choose an enrichment programme to suit their interests, designed to extend their experience of sixth form outside of their chosen curriculum areas. We will make the most of our stellar performing arts facilities, as well as our proximity to Cambridge city, links with rowing clubs, museums, galleries and university colleges to offer a truly enriching programme of extra-curricular opportunities.

Trips and visits

Some of our intended visits include subject based trips to Europe & the USA; a skiing tour; in addition to trips closer to home: theatre trips & concerts; sporting events; parliament visits; London: museums & galleries. We look forward to working with our trust partner Impington International College to enhance the range of trips on offer to all our students, including on exciting trips to Ethiopia and Japan.

Community outreach

We look forward to building on our work within the local community by seeking and developing opportunities for sixth form students to volunteer in a range of local institutions, from primary schools to community centres. Our strong Duke of Edinburgh programme will be extended to include sixth form students.
